Sanctity of Human Life
Many churches set January aside as a time to observe the sanctity of human life. The Sunday closest to the anniversary of the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court initial decisions Roe v. Wade is recognized nationally as Sanctity of Human Life Sunday.
We live in a time where the battle for life is facing an outrageously fierce push for abortion to be accessible on demand. Because of the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade, many states have successfully passed legislation banning abortion to varying degrees. In New Jersey, legislators have been rigorous in protecting the right to an abortion up to nine months for any reason.
In this dark time for our State, we cling to the knowledge of God’s sovereignty, believing every life matters and is precious in His sight. We take comfort in what the Scriptures tell us: “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” (Psalm 139:16)
